This viral tweet got me thinking about the stanzas that stick with us, and how we carry them around - reciting them to friends in need, re-reading them on the tube after a tough day, posting them on social media, saying them over and over in our heads. How magic is that? That humans can string together words that genuinely change lives, in small every day ways. Now that’s poetry.

what’s a random line of poetry you say aloud or in ya head from time to time unprovoked?

1. “Listen I love you joy is coming”

Coming in hot at number 1 is this sentence from Kim Addonzio’s ‘To the woman crying uncontrollably in the next stall’. No surprises here.

@_dariussimpson ‘Listen I love you joy is coming.’ I have it tattooed on my arm.
